📱 What is NTA MDMS?
Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) launched the Mobile Device Management System (MDMS) in 2021 to track all mobile devices on Nepal’s networks. The system stores the IMEI number of every registered phone and links it to the owner’s citizenship. Any phone not in the MDMS database cannot access NTC or Ncell networks.
The primary goal is to block stolen phones and prevent counterfeit devices from operating on Nepal’s networks. It also ensures all devices imported meet Nepal’s technical standards for frequency compatibility.
